Task Nº7: Career-related Website Review/An Expert on your Field

If you've ever searched for language learning apps to use on your smartphone, you must know Duolingo. One of the great things about this app is that it has made language learning accessible to everyone. You don't even have to speak English to use it. But the question is: Is Duolingo good? Does it work? As an English language teacher, language learning is a big part of my life, and over the years, I’ve figured out what works and what doesn’t when it comes to learning a foreign language. The best thing about Duolingo and the reason it has become so popular is that it's free. You can install it on your smartphone and practice whenever and wherever you want. It has lots of different activities, most of them based on vocabulary and short sentences tasks, among many others. When it comes to the negative aspects, I have one major complaint: there are no explanations of grammar rules. You are just supposed to understand the rules intuitively as you go through the lessons, which are mostly multiple choice and translation questions. In short, it’s a great app but I suggest to use it as extra practice, not thinking about it as an English course.
